After the team was literally robbed blind back in the transfer window ( summer of 2014 ), not many had Southampton too high on any list, they did however surprise everyone including myself they remained among the elite for most of the season.
Another summer passes and once again Southampton’s starting eleven had taken a hit, with Nathaniel Clyne joining ex saint’s players at Liverpool and star midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin joining Manchester United. You’d think this time would be enough shake the team and see a massive dip in form. So far were not exactly sure what we’ve seen just yet. Three unconvincing games that resulted in two draws and a loss to Everton which seemed to reassure everyones beliefs, however a 3-0 win over newcomers Norwich has seen their points total rise.
Saints fans will be hoping to recapture their stunning form of last season and continue to acquire and to progress the talented academy of players they continue to have.
