After three successive season with a new coach, Spurs finally have retained one for more then one season. Mauricio Pochettino will have another crack at it, his Spurs finished fifth last term and he’ll be looking to emulate or surpass those goals.
This season hasn’t exactly began as the Lillywhites imagined it would. An opening day loss to Manchester United, where right back Kyle Walker couldn’t have kicked it any harder into his own net. This was surely foreshadowing the weeks to come. Unconvincing draws at Stoke, Leicester & Everton haven’t really shown us much. Real Madrid’s Harry Kane hasn’t opened his goalscoring account just yet and thus far he really is beginning to look like a one hit wonder, ( All Spurs fans erupt into tears ). Seeing ten players leave the club and only a fraction enter the squad also leaves many questions. They did secure themselves a proven Premier league defender in Toby Alderwerireld who swapped from his loanees Southampton to a full time deal at Tottenham. Aside from a late deal for Heung-Min Son ( 18 Million ) their really isn’t much to talk about.
And to add to the misery there are speculations that long time ace goal keeper Hugo Lloris has plans of his own and will depart in January.
